It’s Been a Week Alright…
Right now, Bob Dylan – Planet Waves is Playing.
I’ve bought far to many, or far too few, records this week. I guess is depends on the way you look at it. Have i bought to many or to few?
So lets start with Wed-nes-day, otherwise known as Pay day.
I knew i’d be going to the record shop on my way home from work. Good old Sister Ray. I can always walk in there and walk out with something. And it might be something that i didn’t even know i wanted.
- The Black Keys – Rubber Factory.
- Lykke Li – I Never Learn.
- Bob Dylan – The Freewheelin’.
- Beastie Boys – Paul’s Boutique.
That is what i left with on Wednesday. I went n there to get the last two Lykke Li records but could only find the last one. But that’s cool because i walked outta there is great stuff. The Freewheelin’ was also on that days list. I had to leave with that record.
- Bob Dylan – Another Side of Bob Dylan.
- Guns N’ Roses – Appetite for Destruction.
- Marvin Gaye – What’s Going On.
Now, every time i go into a record shop i look for two of the above records. First is Marvin Gaye, i looked on Wed-nes-day but it wasn’t there, on Thursday how ever, it was the first thing i saw. So i grabbed it up quick. I could sense th ewolves closing in behind me, waiting for me to move. Then i tripped on over to the metal section and looked at GNR, i flicked through it, the usually stuff. Then there it was. Now, lets be straight about something, i wanted to get the original artwork for this record, but hey, it was there so i grabbed it too. And getting another Bob Dylan record was a no brainer.
Friday i figured “I’ve bought enough”. And i stuck to that.
- Robert Plant – Lullaby and… The Ceaseless Roar.
- Fleetwood Mac – Peter Greens Fleetwood Mac.
- Nirvana – MTV Unplugged in New York.
I went looking for Plants new record on Wed-nes-day but it was sold out, no idea when it was coming back. Well, apparently it came back on Saturday. I found it in the Led Zeppelin section. So i though i’d just look in the Nirvana section and there it was, i’d been hoping to find this for a long time. And of course Fleetwood Mac the Peter Green days (4 Records) is something else that recently been on my mind, so i just check it too. And again i walked out of Sister Ray a happy man.
Of course this is an addiction. But i don’t care. I love this shit.
